Happy Groundhog Day!  I will have to say that this is probably not the most celebrated holiday, but it is all in good fun.  The nation used to put more faith in the weather prognostication of groundhogs, but times have changed.  The Groundhog Day movie from the 80’s with Bill Murray(Phil) and Andie MacDowell(Rita) was wonderful.  I loved the sarcastic smart mouthed weatherman, and the development that takes place as the same day repeats itself over and over again.  Obviously the movie is a love story, and in my opinion a good one.  One of my favorite scenes is when Phil  is making the ice sculpture of Rita, and says that he knows her face so well that he could have done it with his eyes closed.  We should all be so lucky.  The comedy and love story are both excellent, but the story that I’m taking from the movie, this year, is belief in yourself.  One of the things that sticks out to me the most, is that through all of the crazy repetition, rejection, comedy, and even despair, he finds the courage, in the end, to be himself.
